Palestine Monetary Authority’s Delegation is Introduced to Jordan's Experience in Promoting Financial Technology and Digital Financial Services

As part of the joint cooperation between Palestine Monetary Authority and the Central Bank of Jordan, a delegation of Palestine Monetary Authority staff visited the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan from July 4 to 8, 2021 to learn about the Jordanian experience and the Central Bank of Jordan's role in promoting and supporting the Fintech Ecosystem sector and digital financial services, financial inclusion and be informed of the achievements in enhancing payment services infrastructure.

Palestine Monetary Authority’s delegation was greeted by the Executive Director of the Department of Payment Systems, Local Banking Operations and Financial Inclusion at the Central Bank of Jordan, Mr. Samir Qaza’a, who welcomed the delegation and stressed the importance of the visit in promoting mutual cooperation between Palestine Monetary Authority and the Central Bank of Jordan.

A number of field visits were also organized for the delegation, including to Jordan Payments and Clearing Company (JoPACC), banks and companies related to financial technology and payment services in Jordan. The purpose of the visits was to learn about their experience and benefit from such experience in line with the objectives and vision of Palestine Monetary Authority in supporting and developing the financial technology sector and promoting digital transformation in Palestine.

The participating delegation from Palestine Monetary Authority expressed its happiness with this visit, praising the efforts of the Central Bank of Jordan in developing the banking and financial sector and maintaining its safety and stability, especially in the field of digital transformation of banks and initiatives in development of the financial technology (Fintech) sector and the mechanisms of control and supervision of payment companies and electronic transfer of funds in order to enhance payment and clearing services.

It is worth mentioning that Palestine Monetary Authority actively seeks to enhance financial inclusion by developing and making the most of Palestine's financial technologies and payment systems infrastructure, as well as supporting entrepreneurs and startups.
