Dr. Jihad Al Wazir- Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority, headed the Palestine National Payment System Council meeting that took place at the PMA's headquarter. The six banks who are members in the council attended the meeting; Bank of Palestine, Cairo Amman Bank, Arab Bank, Housing Bank for trade & Finance, Al Quds Bank, and the Palestine Islamic Bank.

Al Wazir reviewed the latest development in terms of the council's work, focusing on issuing the Decree Law of National Payment Clearing and Settlement.

The council discussed the launch of the International Bank Account Number (IBAN ) in Palestine and the future services in the field of Payments such as, payments by mobile, and E- Clearance.

It is Worth mentioning that this was the first meeting for the Palestine National Payment System Council after electing two new members that are the Housing Bank, and the Palestine Islamic Bank.
