The PMA Instructs Banks to Gradually Resume Banking Services in the Gaza Strip Commencing Thursday

The Palestine Monetary Authority (PMA) has instructed banks operating in the Gaza Strip to begin providing financial and banking services to the public commencing Thursday morning, October 16, 2025, in accordance with each bank’s technical and operational readiness.
The PMA confirmed that the reopening of bank branches will proceed in a gradual and phased manner. In the first phase, a limited number of branches will resume operations based on their readiness, with subsequent announcements to follow as additional branches become operational according to rehabilitation and readiness plans.
In addition, the PMA urged citizens to continue using available electronic payment methods — such as payment cards, e-wallets, and mobile banking applications — given the convenience, security, and speed they offer in completing transactions, and to help meet their financial needs without overcrowding bank branches.
