The Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority Meets with The European Union Representative in Palestine

Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate - January 27, 2021 - His Excellency the Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority, Dr. Feras Milhem, met with the Representative of the European Union in Palestine, Mr. Sven Kühn von Burgsdorff, at the headquarters of Palestine Monetary Authority.
Mr. Milhem briefed Mr. Sven Kühn von Burgsdorff about the latest developments in the Palestinian banking sector and the efforts made by Palestine Monetary Authority to maintain its soundness and achieving financial stability, in light of the crisis of the current economic crisis caused by the outbreak of Covid-19 disease.
Mr. Milhem also briefed Mr. Sven Kühn von Burgsdorff about the most important measures taken by Palestine Monetary Authority to mitigate the impact of this crisis on the affected groups, to provide resources to support the social safety net for the segments affected by the pandemic, and the "Sustainability" Program to provide financing for medium and small and microenterprises that have been economically affected by the coronavirus pandemic, which is currently being implemented through banks and specialized lending institutions.
Mr. Sven Kühn von Burgsdorff congratulated His Excellency the Governor on his new position, and referred to the support provided by the European Union to support the Palestinian economy and the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), Stressing the need to strengthen joint cooperation between the two sides in a way that serves the development of the banking and economic sectors.
