The Governor of the Palestinian Monetary Authority Meets with the Swiss Representative to Palestine

Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate – February 10, 2021

His Excellency the Governor of the Palestine Monetary Authority, Dr. Feras Milhem met the Swiss representative to Palestine, Mr. Victor Favrica. At the Headquarters of Palestine Monetary Authority.

During the meeting, the Governor demonstrated on the recent developments in the Palestinian banking sector. And the efforts made by the Palestine Monetary Authority to maintain stability and development of the banking sector. Significantly in light of the economic crisis, that is caused by the outbreak of the Coronavirus.

Dr. Milhem also gave an overview, to the Swiss Representative about the most important measures taken by the Palestine Monetary Authority to mitigate the consequences of the Coronavirus crisis. Especially on the affected groups, through providing resources to support the social safety net for those segments who suffered from the pandemic. Mainly through the establishment of the "Sustainability" program that finances SMEs and microbusinesses. Where the implementation of the program is through banks and specialized lending institutions.

Mr. Favrica congratulated Dr. Milhem on his new position, stressing his country's aspiration to strengthen joint cooperation with the Palestine Monetary Authority to serve the development of the banking and economic sectors.
