Shawwa Holds First Meeting of Board of Directors of PMA

The Governor of the PMA, H.E. Mr. Azzam Shawwa, held the first meeting of the board of directors of the PMA today, having officially commenced his term of office on the 20th of the current month. The meeting was attended by all board members and the legal counsel. Attendees were welcomed by H.E. Mr. Shawwa, who commended them for the efforts they make and for their continued cooperation to foster the development of PMA with transparency and professionalism. He discussed the latest developments with respect to various subjects related to business continuity of the PMA and the banking sector. 

Mr. Shawwa expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the former Governor, Dr. Jihad AL-Wazir. At the end of the meeting, he thanked all members for their valuable participation and announced that he will be in Gaza at the end of the week to directly follow up the situation of the banking and financial sectors in the Gaza Strip.
