H.E. Governor of PMA Receives H.E. Ambassador of India Mahesh Kumar

During a meeting today at his office in Ramallah with H.E. Ambassador of India to the Palestinian National Authority Mr. Mahesh Kumar, H.E. Governor of PMA Azzam Shawwa affirmed that the Palestine Monetary Authority (PMA) is continuously moving onwards to stay in line with the most recent banking developments. PMA efforts have reflected positively on the progress of the Palestinian banking system, which , he added, is a robust and stable one in spite of the current economic conditions.

H.E. Governor Shawwa noted that international financial institutions, most prominently the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, have commended the PMA for its performanceas+ in particular in the areas of risk management and financial inclusion. He pointed out this can be attributed to PMA efforts which have been made at legislative, regulatory and supervisory levels, and undergo continuous updating and improvement.

Governor Shawwa commended India for the deeply-rooted mutual and friendly bilateral relations, holding to high regard the active role of India in support of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people in all international forums. 
The Ambassador of India expressed his delight at the high level of achievement which the PMA and the Palestinian banking system have attained, and affirmed the steadiness of the historical relation between his country to Palestine.
