Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority Discusses with the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Empowerment Ways of Joint Cooperation

Ramallah – His Excellency Mr. Azzam Shawwa, the Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority, met in Ramallah with His Excellency Mr. Osama al-Sa’dawi, the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Empowerment. Mr. Ali Far’oun, the Director of Market Conduct Department, and Mrs. Irene Saadeh, the Director of Public Relations and Communication attended the meeting.

Mr. Shawwa congratulated His Excellency Mr. Osama al-Sa’dawi on his position as Minister of Entrepreneurship and Empowerment in the new Palestinian Cabinet and wished him all success.

The meeting discussed ways of cooperation between Palestine Monetary Authority and the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Empowerment in supporting the youth, women, entrepreneurs, graduates, the economically marginalized and to empower them and enhance their financial and economic conditions, and change their category from being needy to being productive.  

Mr. Shawwa also briefed Mr. al-Sa’dawi about the goal of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy in Palestine, which was recently launched, and the strategic work plan of the committees that were formed to implement the Strategy. Mr. Shawwa welcomed involvement of the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Empowerment in the committees since the Ministry was in charge of the function of empowering entrepreneurs and women.

Mr. al-Sa’dawi praised Palestine Monetary Authority and its safeguarding of financial stability and enhancing the role of the Palestinian banking sector and focusing on raising banking awareness among people in the community, and the impact of such actions on enhancing the living conditions of people in the community by developing their financial and economic conditions. Mr. al-Sa’dawi affirmed the importance of continuing meetings between both parties to enrich ways of joint cooperation.
