Palestine Monetary Authority Organizes a Training Session for Economic Journalists Titled “Reading Data Posted on Palestine Monetary Authority’s Website”

Palestine Monetary Authority organized today a training session for journalists working in the field of economic journalism, titled “Reading Data Posted on Palestine Monetary Authority’s Website” at its headquarters in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate in cooperation with the Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate.
Mr. Mohammad Atallah, the Executive Director of the Monetary Stability Group of Palestine Monetary Authority, provided a general introduction about Palestine Monetary Authority, its functions and the sectors it oversaw. Mr. Atallah then explained how data and figures could be extracted from Palestine Monetary Authority's website and how to link the data to figures. Mr. Atallah also dwelt on Palestine Monetary Authority’s assets, liabilities, deposits, facilities, statistics, publications and government finances.
The training session included discussions and interventions from participating journalists, and exercises to write a story on the topics at hand.
Dr. Feras Milhem, the Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority, handed over certificates to the journalists participating in the training course at the end of the session, thanking them for their interest and keenness to gain more knowledge, especially in the economic field, which reflected positively on their role in raising public awareness and promoting financial stability and inclusion.
Palestine Monetary Authority has previously organized specialized workshops and courses for journalists, in light of the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate for the Development of Economic Media.
