Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority Meets the Egyptian Security Delegation in Gaza

Gaza – His Excellency Mr. Azzam Shawwa, the Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority, met with the Egyptian security delegation in Gaza and briefed them about the safety of the Palestinian banking system and the role the banking sector and Palestine Monetary Authority play to preserve financial stability and enhance economic growth in Palestine.  

Mr. Shawwa said that Palestine Monetary Authority had not stopped operating in Gaza at any time and that the banking system had continued to be unified, professional, efficient, and independent in Palestine despite the difficulties the sector faced as a result of the division, closure, and repeated Israeli wars on Gaza Strip, which had made Palestine Monetary Authority set an example to be followed in crisis management. Mr. Shawwa showed appreciation to Egypt for brokering the Palestinian reconciliation and continuous support to the Palestinian cause. Mr. Shawwa expressed gratitude especially to the Egyptian President and the General Intelligence Directorate and the Egyptian security delegation, which worked nonstop to ensure Palestinian reconciliation, wishing that God safeguarded Egypt from evil and that Egypt would always be leader and a head in all levels.
