The Deputy Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority Opens a Training Program at PMA for Students from Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie

Ramallah – Dr. Riyad Abu Shehadah, the Deputy Governor of the Palestine Monetary Authority, opened a training program at PMA for the students of Financial and Banking Sciences of Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie. The opening ceremonies were attended by the Assistant Deputy Minister of Higher Education Affairs in the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Dr. Ihab Alqubaj; the Head of Finance and Banking Sciences at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie Dr. Mohammad Abu Amsha; and the Director of Human Resources Department at PMA Ms. Enas Hijazi.

The training program is among the programs of Palestine Monetary Authority for Palestinian university students; it includes lectures and practical training on several tasks and roles of Palestine Monetary Authority and the relation between PMA and the banking sector. The training is delivered by PMA staff of different departments at PMA. The four-session training is held once a week for four weeks. 

Dr. Riyad Abu Shehadah briefed the attendants in the opening remarks of the training program about the vision and objectives of PMA, PMA’s role in developing the Palestinian banking sector and safeguarding its stability, enhancing financial safety network, combating money laundering and financing terrorism, and PMA’s commitment to the international instructions in this respect, and developing supervisory procedures and instructions in accordance with the best international practices and standards. 

 

Dr. Ihab Alqubaj affirmed the importance of organizing such training programs because they contribute to enhancing university students’ knowledge and skills especially university graduates and prepares them for the labor market after graduation.  

Dr. Mohammad Abu Amsha thanked PMA for cooperating in organizing the training program to help students to become aware of theoretical and practical aspects of their studies. He also praised the role of PMA as national institution known for excellent performance and corporate social responsibility.
