The PMA Governor Meets with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg
Ramallah – The PMA Governor, Mr. Yahya Shunnar, met with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs, and Foreign Trade of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Mr. Xavier Bettel, along with his accompanying delegation. The meeting was also attended by several technical teams from both parties.
During the meeting, Governor Shunnar provided an overview of the Palestinian banking sector and discussed the ongoing cooperation between the PMA and Luxembourg within the framework of the Financial Inclusion and Digital Transformation Project in Palestine, funded by Luxembourg and the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI).
As part of the meeting, the PMA team presented an overview of the project's achievements, highlighting its goal of enhancing women's access to banking services and empowering them to benefit from these services, including digital banking solutions. The discussion also covered planning for the second phase of the project, which will focus on strengthening financial education and expanding access to banking services for marginalized areas and communities.
Governor Shunnar commended the ongoing cooperation with Luxembourg, emphasizing its importance in promoting financial inclusion, ensuring stability, and achieving sustainable economic development in Palestine.
For his part, Minister Bettel expressed his deep appreciation for the achievements of the PMA despite the current challenges. He reaffirmed Luxembourg’s continuous support for the development of banking services in Palestine and emphasized the importance of leveraging his country’s pioneering experience in this field.
