Palestine Monitory Authority Governor Meets with the Consul of Egypt to Palestine

Ramallah - His Excellency Mr. Azzam Shawwa, the Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority, met today with the Consul of Egypt to Palestine Mr. Mustafa Shehata.

Mr. Shawwa briefed the Egyptian Consul about the latest developments in the Palestinian banking sector and the efforts of Palestine Monetary Authority in developing and enhancing the stability of such sector and to be up-to-date with the latest international banking developments.

Mr. Shawwa also addressed during the meeting the current Palestinian financial and economic situation and the challenges it faced. Mr. Shawwa said that despite these challenges the Palestinian banking system was sound and stable.

Mr. Shawwa affirmed the depth of the friendly relations between Palestine and Egypt and praised the support Egypt and the Egyptian leadership provided to Palestine in different areas especially in political and economic areas.   

Mr. Shehata praised Palestine Monetary Authority and its efforts to develop the Palestinian banking sector and to safeguard its stability. Mr. Shehata also stated that it was necessary to further enhance the relations between Palestine and Egypt and to exchange banking experience and that Egypt was ready to expand cooperation with Palestine in all areas.
