Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority Meets the Ambassador of Egypt to Palestine


His Excellency Mr. Azzam Shawwa, the Governor of the Palestine Monetary Authority, met today at his office in Ramallah with the Ambassador of Egypt to Palestine, Mr. Essam Al-Deen Ashoor.
Mr. Shawwa praised the strong historical Palestinian-Egyptian relations and expressed his appreciation and that of the Palestinian people over the important support Egypt gave to Palestinian people and their efforts to gain independence.
Mr. Shawwa addressed the latest developments and achievements of Palestine Monetary Authority and the banking system, which enjoyed soundness and security and capacity to face risks using the best international standards and practices. These aspects had gained the banking system the praise of international organizations such as the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, according to Mr. Shawwa.
Mr. Ashoor affirmed that the Egyptian government and people stood by the Palestinian people and their endeavor for liberation and independent state. Mr. Ashoor expressed full preparedness to cooperate with Palestine Monetary Authority and to put Egyptian banking expertise at the disposal of Palestine Monetary Authority.
Palestine Monetary Authority has strategic relation with the Central Bank of Egypt and both parties signed memorandum of understanding in 2010 to develop ways of cooperation between Palestine and Egypt especially in banking control.
