PMA Welcomes Delegates from the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences at Al-Isra’a University in Gaza


Gaza – The Department of Public Relations and Communications of Palestine Monetary Authority in Gaza welcomed delegates from the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences at Al-Isra’a University in Gaza, including students, and professors Ameen Abu Aisha, Haroon Bhar, and Mohammad Yusif.

The welcoming of delegates from Palestinian universities and academic institutions is among the corporate social responsibility of Palestine Monetary Authority. The delegates were briefed about the work of the Clearance Room, the Reception Hall, and the Library at PMA in Gaza. Na’el Sha’th, the Officer in Charge of the Clearance Room, briefed the delegates about the functions of the Clearance Room where bank representatives meet every day to exchange checks for collection.

The delegates then visited the Reception Hall where Hall Supervisor Hussein Zaqoot briefed them about the services the Hall delivered including handling complaints, giving credit reports, preparing returned checks report, and providing information about deceased people’s balances. Zaqoot also briefed the delegates about the banking and financial awareness activities of the Awareness and Complaint Handling Section of the Market Conduct Department of PMA. 

Dr. Imad Al Araj, Advisor to His Excellency the Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority for Monetary Operations Affairs, briefed the delegates about PMA’s foundation and development and readiness to become full-fledged central bank. He explained the vision, mission, and strategic objectives of PMA including achieving monetary and financial stability in Palestine.  

Ayman Odeh, Regional Supervisor of the Supervision and Inspection Department, briefed the delegates about the supervisory role of PMA over banks and lending institutions and the money changers’ sector.

Dr. Saif Al-Deen Odeh, Head of Research and Monetary Policies Section, briefed the delegates about the work of the Research and Publications Department, including publishing more than fifteen publications, most importantly, annual reports and inflation reports.

The delegates expressed appreciation to the efforts of PMA at the end of the visit.
