Palestine Monetary Authority Participates in International Conference on Private Sector Role in Governance and Anti-Corruption Efforts

 

 

 

Ramallah – Palestine Monetary Authority took part in International Conference on Private Sector Role in Governance and Anti-Corruption Efforts, which was organized by Ant-Corruption Commission, the Ministry of National Economy, and Palestinian Businessmen Association and held at Ahmad Shqairi Hall at the Presidential Compound in Ramallah. The two-day Conference “Governance, Transparency, and Economic Development” was organized under the auspices of His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas on December 8 and 9.

His Excellency Mr. Azzam Shawwa, the Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority and Dr. Riyad Abu Shehadah, the Deputy Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority joined the Conference on Saturday (December 8). 

Dr. Riyad Abu Shehadah also joined the Conference on day two on behalf of Palestine Monetary Authority in a session addressing the complementary role of relevant institutions in promoting governance in the private sector. Dr. Abu Shehadah asserted in a statement titled “Governance in the Palestinian Banking Sector: The Experience of Palestine Monetary Authority” before the session the importance of governance and combating corruption in all sectors; especially the banking sector, which had made great achievements in this area recognized and commended by international institutions.
