In the presence of His Excellency the Governor, Bank of Palestine Group Honors Minister of Health and Donates 1.5 Million Shekels to the Ministry of Health to Deal with the Coronavirus Pandemic
May 13, 2020 - In the presence of His Excellency the Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority Mr. Azzam Shawwa, the Bank of Palestine Financial Group honored Her Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. May Kila, in recognition of her efforts and the efforts of the Ministry and medical staff during the coronavirus crisis. The honoring came on the sidelines of the signing of an agreement to support the Ministry of Health provided by the group at 1.5 million shekels through Wakfet Izz Fund, where the group increased its contribution to address this crisis to 8 million shekels, of which 5 million shekels through Wakfet Izz Fund.
The signing ceremony and honoring the Minister took place at the headquarters of the General Management of Bank of Palestine in Ramallah in the presence of Mr. Hashim Shawwa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group, Mr. Talal Nasser al-Deen, Chairman of Wakfet Izz Fund, and Mr. Rushdi Al-Ghalayini, General Manager of Bank of Palestine.
The Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority praised the wise management of the crisis by the distinguished government with the guidance and care of His Excellency the President. The Ministry of Health, led by Her Excellency Minister Dr. May Kila, was at the heart of the event, where the actions taken since the first day had a positive and effective effect in controlling the spread of the virus and the recovery of a large number of infected people, thanking her Excellency the Minister and the Ministry staff, and all those who contributed to this success.
His Excellency the Governor thanked the Bank of Palestine for signing this agreement with the Ministry of Health, its various initiatives and its high sense of responsibility towards our people and our country. Mr. Shawwa praised the Palestinian banking system, being one of the pillars of the Palestinian economy, and its contributions to Wakfet Izz Fund and support for the sectors affected by the coronavirus pandemic from a national and humanitarian perspective. Mr. Shawwa wished all safety and health and well-being, under these difficult circumstances for our people and the whole world, and that God may relief all humanity from this pandemic, as soon as possible.
