The Governor of the Palestine Monetary Authority briefs the Belgian Consul General on the latest developments in the Palestinian banking sector

Ramallah and al-Bireh Governorate, 31-05-2022

The Governor of the Palestine Monetary Authority (PMA), Dr. Feras Milhem, met, today in Ramallah, the Belgian Consul General, Mr. Wilfried Pfeffer and the Economic and Commercial Attaché, Mr. Matthew Labo, in the presence of the Deputy Governor, Mr. Mohamed Manasra.

During the meeting, the Governor of the PMA outlined the developments in the Palestinian banking sector situation and the PMA’s efforts to maintain its stability and durability. He also viewed the strategies that are being developed regarding the digital transformation in the banking sector, the development of the financial technology sector and the enhancement of the infrastructure for payment systems in Palestine. Further, he talked about the support for the sustainable economic development and the provision of financing through “Estidama” Fund for Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises.

The two parties discussed the support provided by the Belgian government to the Palestinian private sector, and ways to promote the economic relationship between the two countries.
