PMA Organizes a Reception in H.E. Governor Azzam Shawwa’s Honor
on Occasion of Start of his Term in Office
The PMA organized a reception in H.E. Governor Azzam Shawwa’s honor at Roots Restaurant in Gaza Wednesday evening. The reception was held on the occasion of the commencement of Mr. Shawwa of his term in office as PMA Governor, pursuant to a Presidential decree issued end of the previous month.
Attending the reception was H.E. Minister of Labor in the government of national accord, Mr. Mamoun Abu Shahla, H.E. Minister of Public Works and Housing, Mr. Mufeed al-Hassayna, Representative of the Quartet, Mr. Kito de Boer, a delegation representing businessmen in the West Bank, directors of PMA departments, senior management of the banking sector, heads of societies, unions and NGOs, chairmen of boards of trustees and presidents of universities, deans of faculties of commerce and many economic experts and dignitaries. They congratulated Governor Shawwa and expressed their sincere wishes of for prosperity and success.
Speaking on behalf of the government of national accord, Minister Abu Shahla welcomed Governor Shawwa, considering his appointment as one which will boost PMA capacity, which is already known for its many achievements. Such achievements, he added, have favorably reflected on the performance of the banking system.
Governor Shawwa thanked the attendees from all sectors, affirming that the PMA will keep up its diligent work to achieve its goals in the service of the Palestinian people and vowing to continue to lead the unrelenting progress of the PMA, as did PMA’s former Governors Dr. Fouad Bseiso, Dr. Amin Haddad, Dr. George Al-Abed and Dr. Jihad Al-Wazir.
