PMA Opens Fourth Training Program for of Al-Azhar University and the University College Gaza

The PMA opened the fourth training program for students of Al-Azhar University and the University College of Applied Sciences Gaza. The training was attended by 20 students from the schools of financial and banking sciences, accounting, statistics and business management. The first training day featured a tour by the trainee students of PMA departments and divisions, during which they received short introductions on the operation of each department and division.

During the program, participants will be introduced to the PMA, the nature of its operation and its key duties. They will also receive hands-on training focusing on the various activities undertaken by PMA departments and divisions.

The program comes within the framework of mutual cooperation between the PMA and the Palestinian universities, pursuant to the memoranda of understanding (MoUs) signed in March of 2014 by the Governor of the PMA, Dr Jihad Al-Wazir, and the presidents of three universities in the Gaza Strip. The MoUs set the ground for the promotion of mutual cooperation and work in the fields of scientific research in economics, business administration, libraries, and the exchange of library materials from different bibliographic sources such as publications, books and journals. The MoUs also facilitate the access to PMA training for graduates of the schools of economics and business administration.

The program is carried out by PMA committee of three colleagues; namely: Ayman Al-Minawi, Administrative Supervisor of the PMA Gaza Office; Imad Al-A’raj, Advisor to the Governor and Dr Saifuddin Odeh, Head of Monetary Policy and Financial Markets Division at the Research and Monetary Policies Department.
