PMA Hosts Group of Employees’ Children as Part of Activities of Child and Youth Banking Week 2015

As part of the activities of the Child and Youth Banking Week 2015, the PMA received a group of employees’ children aged 10 and up, both in Ramallah and Gaza. As part of the Week’s targeted group, the event aimed at promoting the children’s financial and banking awareness, as well as fostering the spirit of team work and encouraging communication amongst employees.
The meeting opened with a speech by PMA Governor, Dr Jihad Al Wazir, welcoming the students and their parents, and followed by an introductory presentation given by Director of Consumer Relations and Market Conduct Department, Mr Ali Farounm about the Banking Week.
Later, employees accompanied their children on tours of their offices, during which children were briefed about their parents work and responsibilities at the PMA.
The activities of the Banking Week will continue over weekdays from 15-19 March 2015 and will feature the organization of school visits by to bank branches in order for students to take a closer look at banking operations.
Moreover, as part of its plan to promote banking awareness and enhance financial inclusion in Palestine, PMA will organize bank employee visits to schools, during which briefings on banking operations and customer services will be presented.
It is worth mentioning that the PMA started to organize the Child and Youth Banking Week since 2012 to coincide with the events of the annual ceremony of the Global Child and Youth Banking Week on March 16 of every year. The Week aims at promoting financial and banking literacy for the largest possible segments of the society, in particular children and youth, and help them be better prepared to judiciously build their financial and economic future.
