PMA Holds Awareness Lecture for students of the Educational Sciences Faculty and the Women’s Community Faculty

The Palestine Monetary Authority conducted a lecture on banking awareness for students of the Educational Sciences Faculty and the Women’s Community Faculty, Ramallah, on the role played by the PMA in the banking sector. Delivered by Mr. Ali Faroun director of the consumer relations and market conduct department, the lecture highlighted the importance of enhancing public awareness of the responsibilities of the PMA and of the procedures and regulations that impact the banking sector.

 

The lecture included a detailed presentation of the role played by the PMA in regulating the banking sector and working to maintain financial stability in Palestine. Issues addressed included the PMA environment, the regulatory/organizational framework, the sectors regulated, key banking concepts, and the benefits of automated systems launched by the PMA in recent years.

 

Students were informed about the work conducted by the PMA to secure customer deposits, which concluded in the establishment of the Palestine Deposit Insurance Corporation. A question and answer discussion took place following the lecture.
