PMA Governor Receives Major General Hazem Atallah

Dr. Jihad Al Wazir- PMA Governor;  received Major General Hazem Atallah, Director General of the police. Al Wazir presented to his guest the recent developments of the Palestinian banking system and the achievements of the few past years. During the meeting, Al Wazir also commended his guest for the role of Palestinian Police force for the provision of civil peace through preserving security which is a requirement for economic, financial and banking growth.    

Dr. Al Wazir also highlighted the role of the PMA in raising banking and financial awareness amongst police officers, in addition to its other contributing efforts to achieve economic security, last of which was the establishment of the Palestinian Deposit Insurance Corporation to protect citizens’ deposits in all banks operating in Palestine.

In turn, Major General Atallah praised the PMA role in maintaining financial stability in Palestine. He stressed the role of Palestinian police force in fostering order and stability and commended the role of community partnerships with national institutions, describing the role of such partnerships as essential and complimentary. He reviewed the achievements of the Palestinian Police during the past years. Whist noting the challenges that impede its work, Major General Atallah affirmed the relentless determination of the Police to perform its duties and professionally serve the Palestinian citizen.
