PMA Governor Meets Delegation of the Palestine Contractors Union

H.E. Mr. Azzam Shawwa, Governor of PMA, met today at his office in Ramallah with a delegation from the Palestine Contractors Union including the first deputy of the head of the Union and contractors’ head in the West Bank Mr. Taj Aldeen Jum’a; the Union’s Secretary Mr. Zahir Hmidat; member of the Board of Directors of the Union Fayiz Al Imla; and the Union’s Cashier Mustafa Abu Al Theeb. Dr. Riyad Abu Shehadah, Governor’s Assistant for Financial Stability Affairs joined the meeting. 

The delegation congratulated Mr. Shawwa on the new PMA modern and developed headquarters and PMA’s work to develop the Palestinian banking sector and to ensure its stability.

H.E. Mr. Azzam Shawwa commended the Palestine Contractors Union’s role in developing the national contracting business, ways of projects management, and promoting capital investment, and their impact on urban development and reviving the Palestinian economy.

The meeting discussed several joint issues of the PMA, the Association of Banks in Palestine, and the Palestine Contractors Union especially the transactions between the banks in Palestine and the Palestine Contractors Union and proposing mechanisms to facilitate contractors’ banking arrangements. The meeting also proposed arranging a workshop to be attended by the members of the Palestine Contractors Union on relevant banking issues.
