PMA and Ministry of Finance Conclude a Training Course on Financial Statement Analysis for Banks and Money Changers

PMA and Ministry of Finance concluded Tuesday training course on “”Financial Statement Analysis for Banks and Money Changers” at the headquarters of the Palestinian Public Finance and Taxes Institute in Ramallah. The training course covered the skills and techniques of bank and money changer accounting and auditing. The course was attended by 50 employees from the General Directorate of Income Taxes and assessors from the Large Taxpayer Office in the Ministry of Finance.

The three-day course was opened by Mr. Riad Abu Shihadeh, Director of the PMA Supervision and Inspection Department, Mr. Hamzeh Zalloum, Director General of the Income Tax Directorate and Ms. Fida Abu Hmeid, Manager of the Palestinian Public Finance and Taxes Institute.

Mr. Abu Shihadeh assured that PMA gives great significance to local staff development and always welcomes cooperation with other local institutions in building skills and capabilities. He described PMA experience in the exchange of expertise with other international central banks like the Bank of Algeria and the Central Bank of Bolivia which enhances staff experience and qualified them to give training courses.

In turn, Mr. Zalloum said that the training course is part of a cooperation program between the Ministry of Finance and the PMA to develop local expertise in the field of finance. He added that “holding such workshops contributes to “the improvement of efficiency and productivity of the Ministry of Finance employee, eventually benefiting the general public by serving citizens and particularly taxpayers in a better and quicker manner.
