Palestinian International Banking Conference 2017 “Promoting Women’s Access to Banking” Opens Tomorrow in Jericho

The activities of the Palestinian International Banking Conference 2017 “Promoting Women’s Access to Banking” starttomorrow Monday at the Oasis Hotel in Jericho. The Conference is under the auspices of Prime Minister Dr. Rami Alhamdallah, who will also attend the Conference, and His Excellency Mr. Azzam Shawwa, the Governor of the Palestine Monetary Authority. Large number of banks’ representatives and local and international banking and economic institutions’ representatives will attend the Conference. The Conference is organized by PMA in cooperation with the Association of Banks in Palestine, the International Finance Corporation, and the European Palestinian Credit Guarantee Fund. Several plenary sessions will be organized during the Conference to discuss the importance of promoting women’s participation in the banking sector, which has great role in enhancing economic growth and sustainable development indicators, improving living standards, and ensuring equality and social wellbeing in the society. The Conference will focus on defining the necessary requirements to build financial capacities of women to access banking services. It will also include presentations of local, regional, and international expertise of banks’ role in economic empowerment of women.
