Palestine Monetary Authority (PMA) and the Ministry of National Economy organize an awareness raising campaign on the electronic payment for the Ministry’s staff

Ramallah and al-Bireh Governorate, 22/8/2022

Today, the PMA and the Ministry of National Economy organized at the Ministry’s headquarters an awareness-raising event for the Ministry’s staff on the electronic payment services, with the participation of all payment service companies and point-of-sale service providers in Palestine. The event’s aim was to introduce these services to the Ministry’s staff and enable them to use the services, especially opening the e-wallet.

The event was launched by Mr. Eyad Zeitawi, Executive Director of the Financial Stability Group at the PMA, and Mrs. Suha Awadallah, Chief of Staff and Director General of International Relations at the Ministry of National Economy.

Mr. Zeitawi pointed out that the PMA launched a wide scale awareness-raising campaign on electronic payment services as part of the strategy to enhance financial inclusion and access to all groups of society. He also mentioned that these efforts aim mainly to contribute to achieving the strategic goal of the PMA, which is encouraging customers to more use of electronic payment and less use of cash.

Mrs. Suha Awadallah stressed the importance of informing the Ministry’s staff about the electronic payment services that the financial companies and institutions offer, given the electronic rapid spread in these days. She also noted that the health pandemic has forced the search for alternatives and solutions for financial services.

Mrs. Awadallah expressed her gratitude to the PMA for this cooperation, that will allow the Ministry’s staff to benefit from the financial services and e-wallets.

The Bank of Palestine, the Arab Bank, the Palestine Investment Bank, Paypal, Jawwal Pay, Maalchat, MadfooatCom, and MEPS participated in the event. It included offering in-kind incentive awards and other cash prizes as a balance in the e-wallet, as well as gifts to employees of the participating companies.
