21-12-2021

Today, at its headquarters in Ramallah, the Palestine Monetary Authority (PMA) organized an event for its employees to introduce them to electronic payment services and electronic wallets, in cooperation with electronic payment services companies.

The aim of the event was to introduce the employees to the most prominent electronic payment services and their means and characteristics and how to use them in the completion of their financial transactions, such as paying bills, transferring  funds,  topping up mobile phone balances, paying via QR code, obtaining cards for smart applications, as well as encouraging them to open electronic wallets to enable them to contribute to the dissemination of a culture of financial technology in their surroundings, and to encourage the use of modern electronic payment methods.

The event is part of the PMA's awareness campaign to introduce all segments of society to e-payment services, allowing many segments of society, including entrepreneurs, women, young people, owners of SMEs and freelancers, access to financial services and the completion of sales and purchases through smart devices without the need to deal in cash and without requiring a bank account, and from anywhere without the need to move.

It is noteworthy that 5 electronic payment companies operate in the Palestinian market. They are licensed by PMA and subject to its control and supervision to ensure the highest degree of security, transparency, and effectiveness, through specialized teams working to monitor the application of the best international standards related to electronic payment services, as well as allowing two banks to provide the e-wallet service.
