H.E. Governor Shawwa Visits to Governor of Nablus, Chamber of Commerce, Businessmen Forum, Municipality Committee and Group of Money-Changers

H.E. Governor of PMA conducted an extended tour of the city of Nablus. During the tour, PMA Governor was received by the Governor of Nablus, the Nablus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Businessmen Forum, the Municipality Committee and a delegation of money-changers. The meetings were intended to promote effective communication with partner institutions in developing and safe-guarding the Palestinian society and economy.

The Nablus tour was commenced with a meeting with the Governor of Nablus Governorate, Major General Akram Rajoub, and his deputy Mrs. Anan Al Ateereh. After receiving a warm welcome, H.E. Governor Shawwa discussed several economic issues in relation to current Palestinian conditions and the different means to ease the burden on citizens. 

Later, H.E. the Governor opened a training workshop in Al Qal’ah in Nablus. Participating in the workshop were employees from banks and lending institutions. The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Ali Faroun, Head of the Consumer’s Relations and Market Conduct at the PMA.

H.E. the Governor met with the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and industry, Mr. Omar Hashem, and members of the board of directors. Discussions addressed a number of economic issues, in particular issues relating to the city of Nablus. The Governor then met a delegation of the city’s money changers at the Chamber of Commerce headquarters, where he was briefed on the problem that face the money changing sector in Nablus. Afterwards, the Governor visited the Businessmen Forum, where he met with the Forum’s Chairman Mr. Nidal Al Bizreh and members of the board of directors. During the meeting, several banking issues of concern to businessmen were deliberated, including bounced checks, depositing funds, currency exchange and exchange rate differences.
