Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority Meets Representative of Norway to Palestine

Ramallah– His Excellency Mr. Azzam Shawwa, Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority,met today at the headquarters of Palestine Monetary Authority in Ramallah the Representative of Norway to Palestine Mrs. Hilde Haraldstad. Mr. Shawwa briefed Mrs. Haraldstad about the efforts of Palestine Monetary Authority in developing the work of the Palestinian banking sector and safeguarding its soundness and ensuring financial stability through applying international banking standards as well as keeping abreast of recent banking developments and the future plans of Palestine Monetary Authority.

Mr. Shawwa also briefed Mrs. Haraldstad about the vision of Palestine Monetary Authority and the banking sector to move ahead with the Palestinian economy and develop it by encouraging and boosting small and medium businesses and micro businesses and overcome the financial obstacles they come across by putting together the efforts of the banking, economic, and national institutions and strengthening cooperation with international partners. 

Mr. Shawwa praised the bilateral relations between Norway and Palestine and the positions of the Norwegian government with respect to the Palestinian cause and the initiatives and development projects of Norway in Palestine and their impact on developing the national economy. 

Mrs. Haraldstad praised the noticeable development of Palestine Monetary Authority and the Palestinian banking sector. Mrs. Haraldstad stated that Norway was ready to further joint cooperation with Palestine to ensure Palestinian financial and economic development.
