Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority Inaugurates Bank of Jordan Branch in Ramallah

His Excellency Mr. Azzam Shawwa, the Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority, inaugurated Al-Masyoon Branch of the Bank of Jordan with the Regional Director of the Bank of Jordan Mr. Hatem Fuqaha, Deputy Governor of Ramallah and Al-Bireh Mr. Hamdan Al-Barghouthi, Deputy Mayor of Al-Bireh Mr. Hisham Shkukani, and banking officers and economists.
Mr. Shawwa expressed joy over the inauguration of the new Al-Masyoon branch of the Bank of Jordan since it was in line with the strategy of Palestine Monetary Authority of spreading of bank branches in all areas, which ensured financial inclusion and financial stability of the banking sector.
Mr. Shawwa praised the contributions of the Bank of Jordan toward the needs of the Palestinian market including banking services and products. Mr. Shawwa said the Bank of Jordan’s net assets until the end of September 2018 totaled $612 million and the overall direct credit facilities of the Bank totaled $227 million and the clients’ deposits reached $495 million for the same period showing continuous progress in the performance of the Bank.
Mr. Shawwa addressed the efforts of Palestine Monetary Authority to develop the Palestinian banking sector and the projects Palestine Monetary Authority sought to launch before the end of 2018 including the new electronic clearance system, the National Financial Inclusion Strategy, and developing modern electronic payments systems.
