Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority: 50 Million Shekels Transferred to Banks Operating in Gaza Strip

His Excellency the Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority, Mr. Azzam Shawwa, stated that the efforts of Palestine Monetary Authority succeeded in transferring 50 million shekels to Gaza Strip to be available for the branches of banks operating in Gaza Strip in order to meet the needs of citizens.
His Excellency the Governor added that Palestine Monetary Authority was keen to prevent any problem in liquidity in light of the recent increase in demand for shekels due to the state of emergency and the expenses of Palestinian families in response to the outbreak of the coronavirus and the payment of salaries of public servants, and the coming of the holy month of Ramadan.
It is worth noting that Palestine Monetary Authority transfers, from time to time, the necessary amounts of the three currencies in circulation to Gaza Strip, including coins of various categories, and to replace the damaged banknotes.
