Na’el Sha’th extended in the workshop greetings from His Excellency Mr. Azzam Shawwa, the Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority, to the participants in the workshop including the Chairman of the Gaza Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Waleed Al-Husari and members of the Board of Directors and members of the Chamber and Palestine Monetary Authority’s delegates. Mr. Sha’th also stated that Mr. Shawwa was very much interested in the continuation and development of cooperation with the Gaza Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the benefit of the national economy and the society. Mr. Sha’th also addressed the importance of raising awareness with respect to the electronic clearance system especially among traders. Mr. Sha’th briefed the workshop about the establishment and development of clearance in Palestine, definition of electronic clearance, the objectives and advantages and responsibility for operating and running electronic clearance, summary of the cycle of check in electronic clearance, the causes of returned checks, and comparison between current clearance and electronic clearance. A discussion took place at the end of the workshop and Mr. Sha’th, Imad Al Araj and Ra’fat Al Araj from Palestine Monetary Authority answered the questions from the traders.
