The Spring Meetings of the IMF and World Bank were held in Washington DC on the 20th of April 2012 and continued until the 22nd of April 2012. H.E. Dr. Jihad Al Wazir has attended the meetings with thousands of government officials, private sector and civil society representatives, journalists and other interested observers.

These meetings have included meetings of the IMF's International Monetary and Financial Committee and the joint World Bank-IMF Development Committee, where they have discussed the progress on the work of the IMF and World Bank. Also featured are seminars, regional briefings, press conferences, and many other events focused on the global economy, international development, and the world's financial markets.

A private bilateral meeting was held between the Governor of the Palestine Monetary Authority Dr. Jihad Al Wazir and the Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Treasury Mr. Neal Steven Wolin, taking the opportunity to discuss many significant topics with highlighting the global economy and the financial crisis, and they also have touched the issue of liquidity in Gaza and the means of cooperation between them.
