Dr. Al Wazir Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority Meets with Dr. Shakhsir Minister of Education

Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority Dr. Jihad Al Wazir and Minister of Education Dr. Khawla Shakhshir met Monday morning at MOE Ramallah office. The meeting intended to coordinate joint effort on extracurricular educational and awareness activities, such as financial/banking awareness campaigns that target students organized by PMA in coordination with MOE, especially during the children and youth banking week held every year.

During the meeting they discussed PMA effort in the field of financial and banking awareness, and what has been done throughout the past three years, manifested in financial education/awareness for students, financial awareness for teachers and support curriculum with financial/banking awareness material. The meeting also reviewed the national strategic plan for financial inclusion, and effective role played by MOE to carry out and represent the plan requirements in technical and steering committees, in addition to secure official support to the plan. Dr. Al Wazir talked about the complementary relationship with MOE, through the representation of Mr. Riyad Abu Shehadah director of supervision and inspection department at board of Student Lending Fund, as Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Fund and actively participate in committees for the Fund, and the central role played by the PMA to promote the Fund's work through a comprehensive audit report presented by PMA, which is regarded the basis for the preparing the Fund's strategic plan.

Dr. Shakhshir commended effort and achievements made through partnership with PMA, and the readiness to maintain it to bring benefits to the Palestinian economy in general, and develop/publish banking education among the Palestinian youth in particular.
