Deputy Governor of the Palestine Monetary Authority receives the Indian Ambassador to Palestine

Deputy Governor of the Palestine Monetary Authority Dr. Riyad Abu Shehadah received at his office today the Ambassador of India to Palestine Mr. Anish Rajan. The Deputy Governor welcomed the Indian Ambassador and greeted him of behalf of His Excellency Mr. Azzam Shawwa, the Governor of PMA, and expressed delight over the historic and strong relations between Palestine and India. The visit is to further the cooperation between PMA and the Central Bank of India in several areas especially risk-based supervision and financial inclusion and electronic payments systems. The Deputy briefed the Indian Ambassador about recent banking developments in Palestine and that PMA kept track of recent global banking development, which had positive impact on the Palestinian banking system making it strong and stable despite the current economic circumstances. 

The meeting discussed ways of cooperation in banking since India is among the countries that are considered friends and supportive of the Palestinian people.

Ambassador Anish Rajan congratulated Dr. Abu Shehadah on being appointed as Deputy Governor of PMA. Mr. Rajan said the India was ready to assist PMA through cooperation between PMA and the Central Bank of India.
