Announcement of the Winners of “Masrifi” Application Prize

Winning Students were awarded a $100 USD Saving Accounts

Today, The Ministry of Education, the Palestinian Monetary Authority, and the Association of Banks in Palestinian announced the names of winning students in the first phase of “Masrifi” application prize, in the presence of banks’ representatives. Each of the 26 winning students was awarded a $100 USD saving account provided on behalf of all banks operating in Palestine.

“Masrifi” is an electronic application that can be downloaded on smartphones. The application simulates a virtual bank branch that provides all basic information about banking services in an interactive and exciting manner with the aim of promoting banking culture and awareness for the young generations, especially 8th-grade students. Moreover, the Application contains a competition that has a variety of banking services-related games and questions that allows the participating student from entering the prize draw.

The Director of Students Activities at the Ministry of Education, Mr. Abdul Hakim Abu Jamous, stressed the importance of joint work with the Palestine Monetary Authority, The Banks Association, and the banking sector to promote banking culture among students and develop their skills and abilities.

The Acting Executive Director of the PMA Financial Stability Group, Mr. Eyad Zeitawi, stated that the development of this application is part of the PMA’s and Banks’ interest in digital transformation and technology, and strengthening financial inclusion.

Additionally, the Director General of the Association of Banks, Mr. Bashar Yassin, commended the efforts made by all relevant bodies to make the application "Masrifi" a success. Noting that the launch of this app was part of the activities of the Banking Week for Children and Youth 2022, with the aim of raising banking awareness for future generations, provided that digital aspects were selected for the activities of this year to keep pace with the technological developments and employ such technologies into the Palestinian market.

The application is designed in a way that ensures the continuous update of its contents, banking information, and competitions. The total value of the prizes allocated for the competition is $ 15,000 USD, and prizes will be drawn in several stages to encourage students to compete to win the competition.
