The PMA and the High Judicial Council sign an agreement to connect courts to the national E-SADAD payment system.

The chief justice of the Supreme Court/ Court of Cassation and chief justice of the High Judicial Council, Counselor Issa Abu Sharar, and the PMA's Governor, Dr. Firas Milhem, have signed a cooperation agreement to connect regular courts to the national e-payment system E-SADAD owned and operated by the PMA. The signing ceremony was attended by the PMA's Deputy Governor Mr. Mohammad Manasrah, the General Manager of the Palestinian Payment Services Company, Mr. Nader Al-Salhi, the Director of Financial and Administrative Affairs at the High Judicial Council, Mr. Sharif Al-Qawasmi, and a number of Department directors from both parties.

The newly E-SADAD platform launched by the PMA connects all service providers nationwide with banks and E-payment companies. It aims to enable citizens to electronically settle their obligations from anywhere, with utmost ease, and without incurring any costs.

Pursuant to the agreement, it will be possible for lawyers to electronically file lawsuits in regular courts from anywhere and at any time, along with electronically paying judicial fees, without the need for personal attendance at court offices. At a later phase, the agreement will allow citizens to settle any fees or fines in courts through the E-SADAD platform, thereby saving time and effort and enhancing the High Judicial Council's digital infrastructure.

The PMA's Governor expressed pride over the partnership with the High Judicial Council, affirming that the agreement serves lawyers and litigants, alleviates pressure on court staff, and aligns with the strategic objectives of the PMA.

The Governor emphasized that the E-SADAD platform represents a turning point in Palestine's e-payment system. It will facilitate citizens in settling most of their obligations to public institutions, private sector companies, and private universities. This will significantly alleviate the citizens' hardships, particularly considering the exceptional circumstances we are currently experiencing, reducing the need for citizens to move around.

In turn, Counselor Abu Sharar affirmed that the agreement with the PMA serves the strategic objectives of the High Judicial Council, with a primary focus on the integration of modern technology into regular courts to facilitate the litigation procedures, aligning with the spirit of our time and keeping pace with the rapid developments witnessed by judicial systems worldwide.

During the past few days, technical teams from the PMA and the High Judicial Council conducted a pilot connection between the E-SADAD platform and the judicial case management system "Mizan 2". This initiative aims to make the service available to lawyers, and allow citizens attending regular courts to benefit from it within a maximum period of three months.
