Press Release The Residential Property Price Index (RPPI) – First Quarter 2026 Modest Growth in the Real Estate Market

The Palestine Monetary Authority has published the results of the Residential Property Price Index in Palestine for the first quarter of 2026 ([1]). The overall index maintained a stable trend compared to previous quarters, recording a slight growth of 0.19% compared to the fourth quarter of 2025, reaching 108.4 points ([2]). The House Price Index rose modestly by 0.81% to 109.3 points, while the Apartment Price Index declined by 0.84% to reach 107.8 points by the end of the quarter. On an annual basis, the overall index increased by 1.2% compared to the first quarter of 2025.

Property specifications remain a key factor in determining prices. Data from the first quarter of 2026 showed that 62.4% of the apartments offered for sale in Palestine were newly built, with an average area of 154 square meters. The results also indicated that about 52.3% of these apartments included one or two bathrooms, while 74.2% had three or more bedrooms, and 67.8% featured a balcony.

As for houses offered for sale, the average area was approximately 232 square meters, with 49.1% being newly built. The data revealed that around 67.9% of these houses had three or more bedrooms, and nearly 64.2% contained more than three bathrooms. Moreover, it is worth noting that real estate prices are not only influenced by internal specifications, but also by other critical factors such as the price of the land on which the property is built, its geographic location, and the characteristics of the surrounding neighborhood.
