The PMA Governor Meets with a Delegation from the International Labour Organization (ILO) Mission

His Excellency Mr. Yahya Shunnar, PMA Governor, held a virtual meeting with a delegation from the ILO Mission, led by Mr. Frank Hagemann, Director of Sectoral Policies at the ILO. The discussion focused on the role of the PMA and the banking sector in economic development and its impact on the Palestinian labor market.

The Governor briefed the delegation on the latest developments in the Palestinian banking sector and the PMA’s efforts to maintain its stability and resilience. He also highlighted the PMA’s initiatives to drive economic development, particularly for workers. He noted that the PMA recently launched the "Bader" financing program in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor, the Export Program, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The program is designed to support workers who lost their jobs inside the Green Line by providing them with affordable financing to establish their own businesses, enhance their financial independence, and encourage the launch of new productive projects or the expansion of existing ones.

The Governor also briefed the delegation on ongoing efforts to restore banking sector operations in Gaza, ensuring access to essential banking services, particularly digital services, for all segments of society.

For his part, Mr. Frank Hagemann emphasized the vital role played by the PMA in supporting financial stability and promoting economic development. He praised its efforts in advancing the banking sector, supporting workers and small business growth.
