PMA Governor meets Minister of Telecommunication and Information Technology

Ramallah - His Excellency Mr. Azzam Shawwa, the Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority, met at his office in Ramallah with His Excellency Dr. Allam Mousa, Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology and the Minister’s accompanying delegate.    

Dr. Allam congratulated Mr. Shawwa on the new Palestine Monetary Authorityheadquarters and praised the noticeable progress PMA had made in developing and safeguarding the banking sector and its soundness, which eventually contributed to the development of the Palestinian economy.  

Mr. Shawwa briefed Dr. Allam about the recent developments in strengthening and developing the financial stability of the Palestinian banking sector and the future projects of PMA to upgrade electronic services such as using mobile phones for payments and electronic clearance. 

Mr. Shawwa and Dr. Allam addressed joint PMA and Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology work. They also addressed the Electronic Applications Law as reference to electronic payments and developing payment services among government agencies. 

Dr. Allam said that by the end of the year, 3G would be used creating a leap in the quality of the electronic services – especially electronic applications – to people.
