PMA Organizes Two Exhibitions of People with Special Needs Works

On the occasion of the International Labor Day and in collaboration with Alnahda Women’s Association in Ramallah and Irada in Gaza, PMA organized two exhibitions for the works of people with special needs to promote and market their products.

The first exhibition featured handcrafts, educational wooden games, geometry games for geometry, mathematics and arithmetic learning as well as educational media for children of all age groups.  

The second exhibition showcased handcrafts, wood burning and carving crafts, folklore hand-made goods, embroideries, household utensils, monumental gifts, ceramic and glass paintings as well as photos of furniture produced at Irada workshops.

The exhibitions were visited by PMA employees from Ramallah and Gaza headquarters who inspected the products and expressed appreciation of the distinct level of quality and creativity that characterized the products on exhibition.  

The exhibitions were opened by Dr. Jihad Al Wazir, Governor of PMA, who affirmed the significance of support to people with special needs and the necessity of their assimilation in society so that they assume a productive role. Dr. Al Wazir commended the philanthropic roles of Alnahda Society and Irada.

Mr. George Rantisi, General manager of Alnahda Women’s Society, said that “the importance of organizing the exhibition lies in exposing the role of the of people with special needs through which the Alnahda Society proved that adults with mental health disabilities are capable of producing competitive and quality educational products”. He added that “the exhibition has delivered a message from people with special needs to the effect that we are capable, we are not a social burden, we need support and encouragement and work is a right for all regardless of their health or degree of inabilities”.   

In turn, Engineer Amr Abu al Qumbuz, coordinator of Irada projects, said that the organization of the exhibition confirms the ability of people with special needs to conquer their disabilities and move towards the active participation in economic and social development.
