The PMA Governor Meets with a Delegation from the Nablus Businessmen Forum
Today –Mr. Yahya Shunnar, PMA Governor, received a delegation from the Nablus Businessmen Forum. The delegation was led by the Forum’s Chairman, Mr. Abdul Raouf Hawash, and included members of the administrative board: Mr. Khaled Kharouf, Mr. Jihad Bana, Mr. Omar Abu Hamadeh, and the Forum’s Executive Director, Ms. Heba Shishtari. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Governor Mr. Mohammad Manasrah and several department directors at the PMA.
The meeting focused on ways to strengthen cooperation between the banking sector and the private sector, and on the role of the PMA in supporting economic activity and encouraging investment—particullarly in light of current economic challenges.
Governor Shunnar emphasized the vital role of the private sector, and businessmen in particular, in driving economic development. He reaffirmed the PMA’s commitment to providing the necessary tools and enabling environment to promote the growth of the Palestinian economy.
Furthermore, the Governor reviewed the efforts undertaken by the PMA to develop the banking sector and enhance its products to serve various segments of society—particularly merchants and businesspeople. He highlighted the advancement of electronic payment services, the promotion of financial inclusion, and the creation of a secure and growth-conducive banking environment.
For their part, the Nablus Businessmen Forum delegation commended the role of the PMA in maintaining financial and banking stability, as well as in facilitating private sector access to financing services and the digital infrastructure that enables efficient financial transactions.
The delegation also discussed several banking-related challenges currently facing merchants and the broader reality of commercial activity under the prevailing circumistances. They stressed the importance of continued coordination and collaboration between both parties in a manner that serves the national economic interest.
