*RAMALLAH, September 25, 2025 | Prime Minister’s Office –* The Palestine Monetary Authority today officially launched its digital financial identity iDplus under the patronage and presence of Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, and attended by PMA Governor Mr. Yahya Shunnar, alongside several ministers, senior government officials, private sector representatives, and members of the banking sector.

Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa reaffirmed that, despite the ongoing and significant challenges faced by the Palestinian people—and the continued restrictions and attacks by the Israeli occupation—enhancing the quality of services provided to citizens, including financial services, remains atop of our priorities.

The Prime Minister conveyed the greetings of President Mahmoud Abbas, along with his unwavering support for all initiatives that strengthen the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and lay the foundation for a more stable and prosperous future. He expressed his deep appreciation for the PMA’s outstanding efforts in supporting the national economy, advancing financial stability, and driving digital transformation.

He also extended his gratitude to all partners involved in this endeavor. He further emphasized that the Government will continue to support all national initiatives that enhance the resilience of citizens, improve their quality of life, and contribute to the building of an independent, developed, and cohesive Palestinian state.

This platform upholds the highest standards of security and protection in digital services and supports Palestine’s transition toward electronic payments, in line with the Government’s vision to empower citizens and institutions to manage their transactions with confidence and security," stated Prime Minister Mustafa.

He emphasized that the launch of the digital financial identity represents a strategic milestone aligned with the broader vision of building a modern, digital Palestine—a capable forward-moving state, with resilient institutions and a flexible economy.

Mustafa noted that the rapid advancements we are witnessing today in the implementation of plans to strengthen and develop national institutions—whether through government-led initiatives or the systems and programs launched by the PMA—are a source of pride for the Palestinian people and the banking sector.

For his part, the PMA Governor, Mr. Yahya Shunnar, stated that the launch of iDplus marks a new phase in the journey toward digital transformation, aimed at enhancing financial inclusion, promoting economic growth, accelerating the economic cycle, and creating a more attractive investment environment. In addition, he emphasized that iDplus is not merely a technical application, but a comprehensive framework that provides citizens with a secure and reliable digital financial identity, enabling them to conduct transactions easily and efficiently, with the highest standards of data protection and privacy.

Governor Shunnar added that the digital financial identity will open wide-ranging opportunities for both the public and private sectors to develop innovative services that support the national economy and create new job opportunities. He also noted that the adoption of electronic registration and biometric verification through iDplus represents a pivotal step toward building a secure and sustainable digital economy.

It is worth noting that iDplus is a mobile application that enables citizens to create their digital financial identity and link it to banking applications. The platform offers advanced protection against electronic financial fraud and gives users full control over their financial transactions through advanced biometric verification technology, including facial recognition.
