The Research and Monetary Policy Department Develops an Econometric Simulation Model for Palestine

The PMA's Research and Monetary Policy Department developed an extended and updated version of its econometric model entitled "Financial Programming Using an Econometric, Simulation Model for Palestine". The model delineates the behavior of, and interrelationships among, the four economic sectors (the real sector and prices, the government sector, the external sector, and the monetary sector) in Palestine. The model also simulates and predicts (for 2013-2015) the major endogenous macroeconomic variables of the first three aforementioned sectors. Finally, it computes the multiplier effects of government expenditure on GDP and its components (consumption, government expenditure, investment, exports, and imports).
