The PMA Wins International Award for the Financial Inclusion Indicators Initiative at the WSIS Champion 2025 Summit

In a new achievement reflecting Palestine’s progress in digital transformation and financial inclusion, the PMA has won the WSIS Champion 2025 award as part of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Geneva, Switzerland.

This recognition comes as a culmination of the PMA’s innovative project, “Financial Inclusion Dashboard: Enabling Data-Driven Decisions for Inclusive Growth,” which was selected among the top 5 initiatives in the category “WSIS Action Line: Access to Information and Knowledge.” The award acknowledges the project’s significant contribution to advancing digital transformation and expanding financial inclusion through accessible data solutions.

The Financial Inclusion Dashboard provides policymakers, researchers, and relevant stakeholders with real-time data and indicators that support informed decision-making to foster inclusive and sustainable economic growth. By promoting transparency and making financial data accessible to concerned parties, the PMA reaffirms its ongoing commitment to sustainable development aimed at empowering individuals and businesses across Palestine.

The award was presented by Mrs. Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union, who praised the role of the PMA in supporting the implementation of the WSIS goals and advancing digital innovation.

This award was achieved after competing against more than 60 projects in this category from numerous countries around the world. The close cooperation between the PMA and the Ministry of Telecommunications and Digital Economy played a significant role in realizing this accomplishment, which contributes to enhancing Palestine’s position on the global map of digital development and innovation.

On this occasion, His Excellency Mr. Yahya Shunnar, the PMA Governor, expressed his pride in this achievement, stating: “This recognition crowns our ongoing efforts to build an inclusive and resilient financial system. We will continue to leverage technology and data to ensure that financial services reach all segments of Palestinian society.”

The PMA extends its sincere thanks to its partners, stakeholders, and all supporting entities for their continued cooperation and support in achieving further accomplishments in financial inclusion and economic development.
