The Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority visits Hebron University and meets with its Faculty members and the Students’ of the Faculty of Finance and Management

Hebron, November 1, 2021 - The Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority, Dr. Feras Milhem, visited Hebron University today and met with the Acting President of the University, Dr. Nabil Al-Hasasneh, and academic deputy heads of the university. The Executive Director of the Monetary Stability Group in Palestine Monetary Authority, Mr. Mohammed Atallah, also joined the meeting.

The Governor expressed his happiness with the visit. He pointed out that Hebron University was one of the leading institutions in its educational programs that provided the market with competencies, especially banking competencies. The Governor stressed the readiness of Palestine Monetary Authority to develop joint cooperation in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Hebron University and Palestine Monetary Authority in the field of academic research and training, organizing awareness lectures for university students in banking and economic topics and providing Hebron University with Palestine Monetary Authority’s publications, especially with regard to the subject of digital transformation and financial technology, which university students must be educated about for their importance.

Dr. Hasasneh, welcomed the Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority and his delegation. He praised Palestine Monetary Authority and its role in developing the banking sector and maintaining its financial stability and development, and its social responsibility towards all groups of society, primarily university students.

Dr. Hasasneh stressed the importance of developing the relationship between Hebron University and Palestine Monetary Authority for the benefit of the University students and academics. He pointed out that the University administration looked forward to establishing a banking training center and a virtual bank with the aim of making a real impact on students' understanding of banking and economic topics, especially graduates before they join the labor market.

                                             

Dr. Milhem also met with students of the Faculty of Finance and Management at Hebron University and provided them with a lecture on Palestine Monetary Authority and its mechanism of action, the entities under its supervision, and its role in the development of the banking sector and economic development.

During the lecture, Dr. Milhem addressed the strategy of digital transformation and financial technology that Palestine Monetary Authority was seeking to implement and develop, the need to enhance knowledge among university students about digital transformation, and the importance of promoting the culture of electronic payment in the society. Dr. Milhem pointed out the impact of this in facilitating the conduct of financial transactions of citizens and to ensure economic development.
