Palestine Monetary Authority: Reopening Bank Branches in the Southern Governorates (Gaza Strip) Starting Tuesday Morning

Ramallah and Al-Bireh – August 31, 2020 - Palestine Monetary Authority issued today a circular to banks operating in the southern governorates (Gaza Strip) to reopen branches as of Tuesday morning, September 1, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a commitment to implement health prevention measures adopted by the Ministry of Health to maintain the safety of employees and clients.

According to Palestine Monetary Authority, the number of clients at a bank branch will not exceed ten clients. Banks are required to use pre-booking services through electronic applications and continue to provide electronic banking services to individuals and continuously feed ATMs with cash.

Palestine Monetary Authority instructed banks in the circular to reduce the number of employees in branches and reduce their movement between governorates for their own safety, close branches in areas that are completely locked down due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, providing that an approval is obtained from Palestine Monetary Authority.
