Palestine Monetary Authority Launches New Website to Keep Pace with Latest Technological Developments

Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate – August 18, 2020 - His Excellency the Governor of Palestine Monetary Authority, Mr. Azzam Shawwa, announced today the launch of new website of Palestine Monetary Authority. The website, which is in Arabic and English languages, is designed to keeps pace with the latest technological developments making it easy for everyone to have smooth access to information, statistics, financial and banking data.

The new website is transparent, accessible on various smart devices, and takes into account the needs of persons with disabilities, recognizing the importance of their right to have access to information, by providing a special tool for browsing the site.

 

The website contains key information about Palestine Monetary Authority, its departments, sections, and the sectors it oversees, including banks licensed to operate in Palestine, currency exchange businesses, specialized lending institutions, e-payment service companies, circulars and instructions issued to these sectors, and annual and semi-annual and quarterly publications, monthly working papers and statistical publications, Palestine Monetary Authority's business cycle index, automatically daily updated currency exchange rate, and highlighting the services needed by the public, including fee comparison, commissions and public services (public reception rooms and complaints, IBAN service, national switch), financial education, quarterly fact sheet and numbers, in addition to a special media section, press releases, and social media. A special section was added to the museum of Palestine Monetary Authority.

Mr. Shawwa said the new website would contribute to strengthening communication with the public and inform them about the economic developments in Palestine, so that they can analyze them and benefit from them by systematic planning and making economic decisions.
