Governor of PMA, Mr. Azzam Shawwa, Receives Jordan's Ambassador to Palestine, H.E. Khaled Shawabkeh
Governor of PMA, Mr. Azzam Shawwa, received at his office in Ramallah, Jordan's Ambassador to Palestine, H.E. Khaled Shawabkeh.
Mr. Shawwa affirmed the historical and brotherly relations and the many common denominators that tie Palestine and Jordan, praising the great support that the Kingdom, under the leadership of H.H. King Abdullah II, offers Palestine in various forums and fields in its efforts to gain freedom and achieve national independence.
Mr. Shawwa reviewed the advances and achievements made by the PMA in all aspects, particularly with regard to Arab and international relations. Mr. Shawwa commended the fruitful cooperation with Arab central banks; in the forefront of which is the Central Bank of Jordan, with which the PMA has signed a memorandum of understanding in 2014 to facilitate cooperation in the area of supervision, in accordance with Basel Committee on Banking Supervision recommendations and resolutions, over Jordanian and Palestinian banking institutions operating in both countries. The MoU makes it easier for both parties to ensure the soundness and robustness of the conditions of banking institutions.
From his side, Ambassador Shawabkeh congratulated Mr. Shawwa over assuming office as Governor of PMA wishing him progress and success in his work to serve the interests of the Palestinian people and economy, assuring the continuous cooperation of Jordan with the PMA and ongoing exchange of banking expertise.
